{food} Jessie’s Grandma’s Banana Bread

Jessie made this delicious banana bread loaf the day after she finished finals. I munched on on a slice while I finished my study sheet for Stats. It couldn’t have been a better finals prep snack!

Grandma’s Banana Bread.

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup shortening (oil is good)

2 eggs

3 bananas

Sift together 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, (optional: 1/2 cup nuts)

Mix wet ingredients, add dry (add nuts at the end)

Put into a loaf pan and bake 1 hour at 325 degrees F

Kristen - Hello, just made this banana bread tonight and it looks great! It took me longer to cook than 1 hour – more like 1 hour and 45 minutes (but my oven kind of sucks). Anyway, thanks for sharing this recipe! :)

Simone Anne Photography - Hmm, I’m not really sure as I’ve never made it in a mini loaf pan before. You should try either googling how long to cook banana bread in a mini loaf pan and then just use our recipe cautiously OR start at like half an hour or something and keep checking it after that. :) Good luck!
