the edible schoolyard, from alice waters, berkeley, california

My ESPM class recently took a field trip to Berkeley’s Edible Schoolyard. This garden within a school teaches students about growing their own food as well as cooking their own food. Kids learn to eat healthy foods and enjoy gardening it. The program is part of the regularĀ curriculum at their school. This program, started and funded by Chez Panisse founder Alice Waters, has gained national media attention as well as been used as a model for starting similar programs across the nation.
