easy and sweet heirloom tomato, garlic, basil pasta sauce

Something hot, easy, and delicious is what I crave on grey days. :)

Saute 1/4 onion (I used white, for the sweetness) in olive oil. Add a few pitted olives and three large tablespoons of Trader Joe’s crushed garlic (I recommend this because it’s sweet and still garlic-y. It’s garlic, but it doesn’t have that spicy-I’m-tearing-up bite to it that fresh garlic does, which might be too strong for this recipe). Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of dried basil. Mix up a bit and let the whole mixture cook on low for a moment. Lay a few large slices of heirloom tomato on your pan. Don’t cook them long – they’re too precious to cook soft! If you want to do that, use cheaper tomatos! haha ;)

Serve over pasta. Yum!
