claire, berkeley, california

I LOVE these images from Claire’s session. We started at the Elmwood Café on College Avenue and then headed up into the Berkeley residential streets for some lovely portraits. I couldn’t have been happier with the lovely sunshine, gorgeous backdrops, and of course, my lovely and super stylish model, Miss Claire!

Congrats on graduating, girlie! You’ll go far :))

retail shopping + my first watermelon of summer

I have come to realize which group of “retail therapy” shoppers I belong to. Some people purchase clothes. Some people are thrift shoppers. Some buy tchotchkes and cute little household items. When I am tired and need a pick me up, I hit up the grocery store. I know this because I was there twice today. Twice, I tell you!

I was tired and riding by on my bike both times. I know, I thought. I’ll just stop in to get a little something. It was the long sets of windows through which I could see the vegetables that drew me in. Vegetables and the pretty flowers they keep outside.

The first time, I bought two mini watermelons, picture above of course, because they were on sale and looked yummy. (They were.) I also got an eggplant for pizza, two oranges, and a bunch of carrots that still had the stems on. For munching.

The second time, I bought two bars of dark chocolate+almond+sea salt (also on sale), deodorant, and a vegan cookbook.

Let’s just say I was a little more tired the second time.

In other news, my friend Joycerine had a piece of the watermelon and said, “Oh my gosh, I forgot how amazing this is. Really, I forgot what watermelon is all about.”

Well said, my friends, well said.

masha, berkeley, california

Masha is gorgeous (have you seen her eyes?!). Of course, I’m sure you know this, if you’ve seen these pictures. Shooting with her was a dream: she’s comfortable in front of the camera, laughs and smiles a lot, and, like I said, has big, beautiful, blue eyes. :)

Congratulation on graduating! I can’t wait to see everything you do. (p.s. I wouldn’t be surprised if it included running a company or something else powerful. I think you look like a leader in these images!)

Thank you for a wonderful time shooting around Berkeley in the sunshine!

ishtar, san francisco, california

Can we talk about how gorgeous and stylish Ishtar is? Shooting with her in San Francisco was so much fun. This girl has got serious swag (yes, I just said that) and it showed through in everything she did at our shooting session, including but limited to her choice of locations. I am in serious love with all the images from Presidio Heights where we wandered around the gorgeous homes and pretended we were justing getting back from work. ;)

Congrats on graduating and I can’t wait to hear all about the fabulous times you have in Australia! :)

kapil+shradha maternity, san francisco, california

I am so excited to share these images from Shradha and Kapil’s maternity session. They are expecting a darling baby girl in a few weeks and I absolutely cannot wait to meet her. We met up near San Francisco‘s deYoung Museum and I had a blast hanging out with this gorgeous couple. The light was perfect, the weather was warm, and they were oh so adorable.

Congratulations on starting your new family, you two!
