Stephanie and Curtis’ cypress tree tunnel engagement photos is a long time coming on this blog. In part, this is because we made these photos together before they were actually engaged. They have a cute puppy and we wanted to capture Lola while she was still definitively PUPPY. Also, I adore Stephanie and Curtis’ style and wanted to work together to make beautiful, interesting images. Point Reyes is one of all of our favorite places on the planet (well, especially in the Bay Area) and so making the images here was fun and pretty, too!
win-win-win, I’d say! :)
We started at the Point Reyes shipwreck, which actually doesn’t exist anymore. Who knew these photos would be one of the last two times I saw this iconic Inverness spot? So sad.

There’s some neat buildings in that little town/outpost. I love these portraits of Curtis and Lola. (Aren’t her puppy ears just so dang cute?!)
I made this flower crown for Stephanie. I love the bright pop of color and fun bit of interest it adds to these images.
Such a gorgeous couple.
Isn’t Stephanie a babe? Beautiful. Love these images of her with the simple metal background. Clean and pretty.
And with her baby. <3
Next we headed to the Cypress Grove, down the one lane road from the shipwreck. This spot was magical and when the fog started to roll in, it was insanely beautiful. So glad we spent some time here.
This is probably one of my favorite images from the whole session. Too perfect. Lola, you cutie!
Another favorite shot. I mean, COME ON! So perfect.
This spot is just way too good.
Look how dreamy the light was! I love these.
Dog model. <3
There’s a real cool old building down at the end of the tunnel. I loved the setting here.
And the snuggles we got on the side steps here are so sweet.
Isn’t this location a total win? Too much perfect.
FAVE.
And then the light peeked through the trees and I swooned with delight. Stephanie changed into a pretty red dress and we got a few rays of golden light through the tangle of the Cypress trees.
Last but not least we headed down to the overlook that’s near the entrance to the lighthouse down here. I love this view of the beach – big, open sand, endless waves… it’s just pure magic. (Side note: I need to find a way down to that beach sometime.)
This view plus Stephanie’s red dress, plus her soft grey coat, plus Curtis’ perfect black and dark blue outfit… It’s just all perfection come together. Love it.
Overlooking the ocean with your love. <3 We got a little moody as the sun set and I absolutely love it.
And with the moon in the picture?! I can’t even. So good.
Boop!
A favorite, ever.
And a final silhouette image.
Stephanie and Curtis, thank you both for a truly exceptional session. I had the best time hanging out with you two and getting to know you both and I am SO so so excited by the images we created. I’m glad we met up while you were still in your pre-engagement life and I hope these images forever remind you of that wonderful time… and the magical life together that it was only the beginning of. <3
Can’t wait to see you two hitched! XO
