Photographing Ashley and Billy’s one year anniversary was SUCH a pleasure. I photographed their beautiful Half Moon Bay wedding a year ago and since they got married by the beach, we did a beautiful mini wedding session on the coast. Today, year later, we wanted to switch it up. Ashley and Billy wanted trees, so I took them to one of my favorite little f0rest nooks in Half Moon Bay and we created a dreamy fairy wonderland in all of the spring greenery.

Ashley and Billy had a second small celebration in Southern California after their wedding and Ashley wore this beautiful red dress. Because it was a small post wedding reception, they didn’t need a photographer for the event, but for their one year anniversary they decided it was a great time to bring back that set of outfits. We paired everything with one of my favorite forest areas for a stunning, fairytale of a shoot.

The soft light at the beginning of this shoot was SO dreamy.

I love the closer shots here, but I also really love the images created from far away. It’s stunning how the red dress makes these two pop against the trees.

A favorite image for me.

This is the same jade bracelet that Ashley wore on her wedding day. It brings good luck and prosperity. And it looks stunning against that dress!

So dreamy.

Then we headed into the trees to really get that forest feel. I love the more dramatic lighting in here and the play between the trees and Ashley and Billy. So pretty.

One whole year of happy marriage. This is what it looks like.

Deep in the enchanted overgrown ivy, these two looked like royalty in their own fairytale romance.

Too perfect.

After the forest, Ashley changed into her other dress, a long red Chinese gown. This outfit was equally stunning.

I just love the nostalgia of seeing these two in the green field, with this outfit, all by themselves. Looks like a scene out of a foreign movie. Ashley and Billy, thank you both so much for having me along to celebrate your one year wedding anniversary with some beautiful photos.
