Molly and James’ Half Moon Bay engagement photos make me the happiest! After lots and lots of rain all winter, we had the most epic and perfect day for their session: Blue skies, warm weather… it was a day you’d want to head to the beach with your sweetheart anyways, just to play. So, play we did! We had a great time working together and playing together to get the perfect Half Moon Bay engagement photos: I love working with couples that are as in love as these two to really create wedding photos that capture who they are and how they love at this point in their lives.
It’s always a good time to relax with your person, enjoy the beach and the scenery, and just have a good time. They kept looking at each other & me & just exclaiming: “What a gorgeous place! How is this real!??” I quite agree. California, you are amazing!
Beyond that, I actually grew up in Half Moon Bay and went to high school here. It’s an incredibly special place: A true small town not far from San Francisco with some absolutely incredible scenery. I feel lucky to know Half Moon Bay so well and to be able to take my HMB wedding and California engagement photos clients to some truly spectacular spots in the area. I always love making recommendations for beaches, cliffs, mountains, forests, and views, that truly show off the wonderful outdoor spots in Half Moon Bay. For these two, it was no exception, and like with many of my Half Moon Bay engagement photo sessions, I had the pleasure of sharing a magical spot in HMB with some fabulous clients who were blown away with the place and had never seen this spot in California before. So fun and wonderful!

I truly love this last photo because of the memory attached: “Okay, for our last shot of the session, I just want you two to run down towards the ocean like it’s the best day of your life and you just had the most fun beach day with your sweetheart that you could ever imagine.” And away they went! Not even such a stretch of the imagination anyways, just lots of love and joy and yelling into the horizon.
