Redwoods Elopement in California

Photographing Jena and Matt for their redwoods elopement in California was a true pleasure! These two had been married already, in a fun little runaway church in Vegas, and were happily living together nearby. Matt is in the military and this had been what made the most sense for these two at the time. A few years later, however, they wanted to exchange vows and say their marriage promises to each other in a more natural environment. What better place to do this than in the redwoods in California, right near where they both call home!?

It was a beautiful, moody morning, forecasted to rain later in the day. We brought rainboots and umbrellas and headed into the forest, just the three of us. We started with photos first, since Jena especially was worried they would both cry and she might ruin her make up for the rest of the images.

After some gorgeous shots among the trees, we headed to a special little circle in the redwoods and said their vows. It was absolutely beautiful and so emotional and I am so glad I got to be a part of such a beautiful moment in time. Thank you both for having me and many congrats for a happy, long, and loving marriage! xo
