This is the softest of the scarves I’ve been posting… The yarn is silky and soft and I’m really loving the muted orange. Doesn’t it look fantastic with denim?!

Yarn – Jo Sharp, Silkroad Ultra in orange. I couldn’t find the color anywhere online, but they had it in my local yarn store and there are plenty of other colors online! 1-2 skeins. (I used one and a half)
Needles – Size 10.5 (US)
Recipe – 25 stitches wide. Knit stitch all the way. Takes one and a half skeins, approximately, but knit to your desired length. Twist twice and knit together the first and last rows, tying off as you go. I’ve posted some more tips on how to do this at the bottom of these directions.

I very much like the the color and the size of this cowl! I may make It one inch wider. Great suggestion. Big is not always better, and may very well be way too much unless you live in Alaska.
I have knitted two of these cowls and about to knit a third one. I have received many positive comments about how lovely they look. And I agree. A fast easy project that is great to wear . Love it to bits! Thank you for publishing your free pattern.
awww, YAY!! I am so happy to hear that!! enjoy!! xx
I think a “thank you” is in order! Susan
Would you please measure your finished November scarf–width and length. I have lots of yarn and this would help knowing I have the right weight and size needles. Thanks!
Hi Marcia! Thanks so much for your comment. I’m so happy to hear you want to make the scarf! :) I’m so sorry, but unfortunately, I don’t have it anymore – I gave it away as a gift to the girl in the photo. Sorry about that! :)
What ply is the wool please ? I may have problems buying the wool you used. Thank you.
Darn, I wish I remembered. It has been years since I made this. A little Google searching told me this though – Weight/Yardage:
50g/60yds Hope that helps! :)
That yarn is a 12 ply/#5 bulky weight yarn.
Love
it, I can see my niece wearing this when she goes to work in the cooler months. Thank you.
Great! So glad it is something you’ll enjoy and she’ll use! :)
Thanks so much! Have a great day!
You are so very welcome! Let me know how it goes when you get a chance to make this – photos are always loved! xx
It’s easy if you share images online, here: https://www.facebook.com/simoneannephoto
Love the pattern! How many stitches do you cast on?
Hi Sheryl! I used 25, but feel free to test it out & see what works for you! :)
I would love to try your pattern.
How do you knit the first and last row together please?
Thanks!
Naomi
Hi Naomi, When you’ve knit the full length of the scarf, lay it flat on a table, the needle still in at the end. Twist the scarf once so that there is a twist in it & then bring the beginning & the end together. When you knit your next row, match up the ends of the scarf & knit your first row together with your last. Basically, you need to pretend that your first row & your last row are one & as you finish your final row & end the scarf, add in the first row with the stitches from the last row as though they are one. If that seems too complicated, you can also just finish the scarf normally and then use a large (usually plastic since it’s for yarn) needle to sew the two scarves together. I hope that helps!
