Jo and Adam’s sunset engagement photos were SO. MUCH. FUN. I met these two through Rae & Matt, whose Ty Warner Santa Barbara wedding I was at in September of last year (I was the maid of honor!), and I am so happy to call these two not just clients, but also friends.
Of course, pretty photos start with a happy couple, completely in love. Throw in a gorgeous dress, handsome suit, and a stunning location and we were off to a grand start.

I absolutely love these images in the trees, streaming with golden sunshine. Don’t these two just completely light up with happiness?!
I love these sweet ones, in black and white. Jo and Adam are so comfortable together and it totally shows.
Jo knew immediately which dress she wanted to do her engagement photos in. And it was a really great choice! I l0ved this one, from Modcloth. (She specifically wore the Exquisite Elegance Dress in Navy, for those of you asking! You can find it here. It was incredible.)
Obviously we got a few of Jo alone, looking stunning, of course.
Not to be outdone, Adam looked dapper in his solos.
Aren’t they just so dang cute together!? Couldn’t beat this spot with these two.
This image is one of my favorites from the session.
After some time in the golden sunshine, we headed up the road to another spot, this time a lovely secluded pathway in the redwood trees.
It was fun to switch it up a bit and I really loved this spot.
Helloooo gorgeous! xo
Hi Adam! haha. :)
Adam surprised Jo with a custom ring made from ideas he got while browsing her Pinterest page. The proposal was a total surprise and Jo was blown away by the thought and care Adam had put into finding and making and creating the perfect ring. They had already known they would spend their lives together, but the proposal was such an exciting and memorable day. Obviously, Jo said yes. A thousand times over! haha. :)
Isn’t the detail on the side perfect?! I’m obsessed.
After our little jaunt up the road to the redwoods, we came back to our first spot to get the golden sunshine as the sunset. I love the softness of these images and the romantic feeling that the setting sun added to the whole day.
A favorite of Jo.
Go on, girl. Bring it.
Aren’t they just so perfect together? I hope you two print this one out for your mommas. ;)
Jo and Adam, thank you so so much for having me along to photograph your sunset engagement photos. I had such a wonderful time hanging out with the two of you and playing in the fields and trees and with the lovely sunshine. I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day and make images that document your happy day for a lifetime and beyond!
