Mount Diablo Engagement Photos
Soooo in love with these beautiful Mount Diablo Engagement photos that I did with Season and Derek a few weeks ago. In the middle of winter we got a beautiful, dreamy sunny summer day and I couldn’t have asked for more. These two totally brought the cuteness to our session and with a killer location and one wonderful (and authentic!) prop, this engagement photo session is an absolute favorite.
First of all, we started with this beautiful tree and stunning light. Loved Season’s skirt and Derek’s green shirt and these two getting cute and cozy in front of my camera.

With such dramatic light and a beautiful setting, this image in black and white totally works. Love it!
This candid moment, when they fell apart in laughter, is also a favorite image. You can’t say anything except *HEART EYES* to marrying your best friend who can also really really make you laugh. <3
UHM, HELLO. Can we talk about Season’s stunning diamond ring?! This engagement ring is an absolute dream – I love the shape, the details, the color… And in this light it looks beautiful on that rock. Love!
I had to include a few different photos to really give you a dream view of the thing. Love the details on this bling!
We can obsess over the ring as much as we want, but I want to make sure to focus a little bit on the two that matter most in this picture. ;) These images of Derek looking relaxed and happy make me smile.
And these of Season looking stunning and with her gorgeous knock-your-socks off smile also make me the happiest photographer. Derek did a good thing for himself here. ;) xo
And because I was obsessed with the tree (I am always enamored with the trees), I adore the next two images in the sunshine and the shade. Too beautiful.
Although I could have photographed these two under that one tree for the whole session, I figured we should probably include some variety in the images ;) haha. We headed over to the rock and I think Summer and Derek look like models, sitting pretty and enjoying the view down over the valley below Mount Diablo. With afternoon light like this, it was just too too good.
And a couple when they thought I wasn’t looking… haha.
Some happy snuggles with your favorite human on the planet.
And then off into the sunset. Because, you know, wedding dreams and happily ever after. <3
We headed up the hill to another favorite location that I had scouted – I love the soft rolling hills peppered with bushes and trees and the view out over the Bay Area.
Derek is a musician and so at the last minute they stuck his guitar in the car and brought it. I couldn’t be happier that he did.
Never one to say no to an impromptu concert on the top of a mountain at sunset (can you blame her?!), Season was treated to a dreamy solo serenade. The resulting images, in which these two got lost in their own happy little world and I captured the real moments, are some of my favorites, well, ever. This is what their love looks like and this is what their life looks (and sounds!) like. Amazing.
This one better be getting printed large and in charge for their home!
A few romantic songs later, we put the guitar away and I let these two just soak in the sunshine and appreciate the sunset.
We chased the last rays of sunshine to the top of the mountain and snapped some last photos as dusk settled over us and the warm bit of winter summer we’d enjoyed faded into a chilly (but happy!) evening.
Love this one – definitely a favorite.
And ending it with a happy silhouette.
Season and Derek, thank you both so much for having me along to celebrate your love and document your engagement. I had the best time exploring and laughing with you both and I cannot wait to celebrate your wedding with you! XO
