Muir Woods Engagement Photos

Teresa and Mike’s Muir Woods engagement session was so much fun! We photographed the two of them in the beautiful forest area that is Muir Woods and on the bluffs of Marin, above a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. With both the trees and the ocean, with some stunning views and beautiful light, and with the sweetest couple ever (and a few beers!), this session was SO much fun.

We started on the pathways of this beautiful forest, the trees stretching tall above us. Love the old growth redwoods here.

Even though we shot these during the early afternoon, it tends to be a bit darker in Muir Woods, nestled among the hills and deep in the trees. These images were taken in a little clearing, right above the river. Such a pretty little spot. Love the way Teresa’s dress catches the light!

Then we headed over to one of my favorite spots in Marin for beautiful Golden Gate Bridge engagement photos. Holy WOW, that’s a good view! Insane, with the city behind. So beautiful.

Love the gorgeous light we got here, on the edge of the continent. Dreamy and stunning.

And then heading over to the bridge as the sun got lower. Love the way these two look against the whole of San Francisco and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Incredible.

Mike and Teresa both grew up away from the San Francisco Bay Area, so their families are all flying in to celebrate with them. Even though they are both now based in San Francisco, for all their guests, this is a bit of a destination wedding. They wanted their engagement photos (and therefore their Save the Dates) to have the San Francisco feel of where they call home now and help remind their guests what an awesome location they are heading to for their wedding. Love it!

Dreamy. Another favorite, for sure.

So beautiful. How sweet is love?! The greatest gift.

… And then we busted out the beers. hah! Love that these two brought a little drink. At first it was planned so that they could relax a bit in front of the camera. But we easily got relaxed and (almost) totally forgot about the beers. As the sun set and we finished up the session, we broke them out. I love love love the fun personality in these images. Too good.

And then a candid one, as they had a drink and watched the sunset over their city. Too perfect a way to end the day.
